Effects of nozzle type and adjuvant selection on common lambsquarters (<i>Chenopodium album</i>) and johnsongrass (<i>Sorghum halepense</i>) control using nicosulfuron in corn

Abstract Weed control in corn is a major challenge due to increasing problems with highly dominant weed species and herbicide resistance evolution. Common lambsquarters johnsongrass constitute up 80% 90% of the population many spring crops, such as soybean [ Glycine max (L.) Merr.], sunflower ( Helianthus annuus L.), corn, Serbia. Currently, acetolactate synthase–inhibiting herbicides, systemic selective sulfonylurea nicosulfuron, are most commonly used for chemical those species. A better understanding impact nozzle type adjuvant use on nicosulfuron efficacy can help improve common minimize development. Field trials were conducted Serbia from 2020 2022 evaluate two adjuvants (a non-ionic surfactant [NIS] mineral fertilizer ammonium sulfate [AMS]) types (drift-reducing nozzles flat-fan nozzles) using nicosulfuron.
